Amble, John Benjamin, III A longtime NE resident, John B. Amble III, Age 81, died on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024. John is survived by his two sons Jeff and Tim, his sister Joyce, and two nephews Mark and David. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine Amble. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, June 27th at noon in the dining room on the lower level at Chandler place. The address is 3701 Chandler Drive, St. Anthony MN. Alvin A. Bodin

Bodin, Alvin A. passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 92 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joanne M. Bodin, and children, daughter Kathy Wolter (Ken), daughter Jackie Masson (Andre), son Craig Bodin (Joy), daughter Maggie Sainio (Randy), son Joel Bodin (Katie), 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends. Alvin was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Viola Bodin; five brothers, three sisters, and granddaughter, Courtney Sainio. Visitation on Wednesday, June 26th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a short ceremony and time for sharing at 6:30 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55429. Funeral service on Thursday, June 27th at 11 a.m. with visitation starting one hour prior at St. Joseph Catholic Community - Parish Center, 8701 36th Avenue N, New Hope, MN 55427 with lunch immediately following. Virginia E. 'Ginny' Cooley

Cooley, Virginia E. "Ginny" 89, of Tofte, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Ginny (the beautiful one) was born June 26, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas. She lived in Chicago, IL before moving to Saint Paul, MN. She met Fred Cooley at a USO social, whom she dated and later married. In 1989 they moved to Tofte, MN. Ginny was employed as a hairdresser for several years before working at Montgomery Wards in the mail order department and then working at the Science Museum of Minnesota as a guard along side Fred. After Ginny and Fred moved to Tofte, she soon started working in the reception area at The Chateau LeVeaux. Her interests included marching with Brass INC Drum and Bugle Corps, karate, oil painting, and listening to Mexican music. Joining the Bone Builders she enjoyed and shared her love of exercise and being healthy. Ginny was very devoted to her faith which guided her throughout her life. The nature and calm of Tofte, MN spoke to Ginny and Fred, they went on many nature walks which Ginny continued after his passing. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Cooley, brother Juan (Martha) Garay and daughter Angelica Josephson (Cooley). She is survived by her son Michael; grandchildren Lanee, Matthew, Sonja, Kristine, Katherine, and Nicholas; great-grandchildren Mariah, Angelina, Addison, Harrison, Evelyn, and Ava; great-great-grandchild, Eleanor; nieces Aurdry, Olga & nephews Manuel, Ivan Garay. Eugene Charles Fourniea

Fourniea, Eugene Charles Passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul at the age of 100 years, 6 months. Born to Henry and Isabel Fourniea on December 18, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN. Gene was a lifelong resident of Minnesota. Life in Minneapolis was filled with his family of brothers, Richard and Robert; sister, Doris and his parents. He proudly served our nation during WWII in the Coast Guard/ Navy mainly in the South Pacific Area. Gene returned after deployment to Minneapolis. He was a proud member of Plumber Local #15 and the UA for 74 years. Gene met the love of his life Marion on a blind date. They were married on June 17, 1950 and just celebrated their 74th anniversary. His love of the outdoors, hunting with his family over the years. His quiet way, peaceful nature and great sense of humor was evident at the CABIN. But most of all the love of his family was his biggest priority. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marion; children, Yvonne (Joseph) Hanzlik, James (Teresa) Fourniea; daughter-in-law, Michelle (Weed) Fourniea, Terri (Mark) Stadheim, Gayle Fourniea. Grandchildren, Joseph (Amanda) Hanzlik, Nicholas (Alyssa) Hanzlik, David (Katy) Hanzlik, Melissa (Billy) Aukland, Ross (Elena) Stadheim, Alex (Susan) Stadheim, Grant (Emily) Stadheim, Nathan (fiancé, Missy) Stadheim, Ryan (Kayla) Ortlip, Chad Ortlip, Lindsay (Nick) Neutkens and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Isabel; brothers, Richard and Robert; sister, Doris; son, Patrick G. Rev. Donald Oakley 'Don' Nesheim

Nesheim, Rev. Donald Oakley "Don" age 87, passed peacefully on 1/2/2024 with family by his side at Riley Crossing in Chanhassen after a long and mirthful battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Dave Pearson

Pearson, Dave age 80, of Woodbury, MN passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from acute myeloid leukemia. Born on June 29, 1943 in St Paul to Donald and Hazel Pearson, he was a generous friend, especially to his family and coffee crew. After graduating from Johnson High School ('61) and attending the University of Minnesota, Dave worked as a registered land surveyor for MnDOT his entire career. He attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Oakdale for many years. After retiring, he continued working with several of his friends in construction related fields. Over his lifetime, he enjoyed coaching hockey, playing the hot corner in softball, watching the Twins on the radio, and supporting local eateries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Pearson and Hazel (Cliff) Baker; his sister Diane Weitzel; and his grandson Isaac. He is survived by his brother-in-law Duane Weitzel and step brother Brad (Denise) Baker; sons David (Chris), Mark (Celeste), Craig and their mother Dorothy Nowlin; step daughters Kris, Mindy and their mother Ellen; grandchildren Doug, Bethany (Jesse) Booker, Bjorn (Katie), Graham, Lucas, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren Amara, Serena, Annaliese & Simeon Booker and Clara Pearson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Visitation one hour prior to service, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury, MN 55125. Edward Gerald 'Ed' Prohofsky

Prohofsky, Edward "Ed" Gerald born April 20, 1934, passed away on June 24, 2024, having reached his goal of 90 years. Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Abel and Adeline Prohofsky; brother, William; great-nephew, Maxwell; and the love of his life, Joyce. He led an exemplary life, always an educator and coach, there is truly no "I" in team and he made sure that everyone was welcome and included. From his early days of coaching his 4th Army team to the division championship, to opening the doors of inclusivity for kids with physical and mental differences to participate alongside their peers in athletics, right up to including adapted sports as a sanctioned activity by the Minnesota State High School League, allowing them to proudly letter in their sports just like everybody else. He enjoyed success on the court, with his fabled Marshall-University High School Championship team, to college basketball and the pros with the Timberwolves and the Lynx. He was inducted into seven Halls of Fame. With all his success he remained humble. The first thing he said to people he met and spoke with later in life was, 'if everyone had a family like mine, there would be no problems in the world.' It is difficult to sum up the life of a man who made a difference to so many. He is survived by his sister, DeDe Armel (Stephanie and Michael and their families); children, Richard (Jodi and Ian), Sheri (Paul, Haley, Anthony, Mickey, Danny and Rebecca), Suzy (Brian, Mathew and Justin) Pamela (Howard, Sam and Annalee); Nephew and Niece, Lee (Juliana, Nathaniel and Naomi) and Jill (Mike and Alex) who will all miss him dearly. Funeral service 10:30 am TUESDAY June 25th at BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5225 Barry St. West, St Louis Park, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Beth El Syn. or the donor's choice.
