Every drop of rain that falls in Sahara Desert says it all
It's a miracle
All God's creations great and small
The Golden Gate and the Taj Mahal
That's a miracle
Test tube babies being born
Mothers, fathers dead and gone
It's a miracle
We're having a miracle on earth
Mother nature does it all for us
The wonders of this world go on
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Captain Cook and Cain and Abel
Jimi Hendrix to the Tower of Babel
It's a miracle
It's a miracle
(It's a miracle)

It's a miracle
The one thing we're all waiting for
Is peace on Earth and end to war
It's the miracle we need, the miracle
The miracle we're all waiting for today

If every leaf on every tree
Could tell a story that would be a miracle
If every child on every street
Had clothes to wear and food to eat
That's a miracle
If all god's people could be free
To live in perfect harmony
It's a miracle
We're having a miracle on earth
Mother nature does it all for us

Open hearts and surgery
Sunday mornings with a cup of tea
Super powers always fighting
Mona Lisa just keeps on smiling
It's a miracle
It's a miracle
It's a miracle

(The wonders of this world go on)

Well it's a miracle
It's a miracle
(It's a miracle)
It's a miracle
The one thing (the one thing)
We're all waiting for (we're all waiting for)
Is peace on earth (peace on earth)
And an end to war (end to war)
It's the miracle we need, the miracle

(The miracle)
Peace on earth and end to war today

That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends
That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends
That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends
That time will come

I agree with Peelmaster, except for one thing...it doesn't sound too much like the test tube babies being born is a good thing. "Test tube babies being born, mothers, fathers dead and gone" It sounded to me like something from Brave New World.

Hahaha, for the longest time, I thought he said "he Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Captain Kirk and Cain and Abel."

Anyway, The MIracle has always struck me as "Look around at what what an amazing planet we live on, and what we've accomplished as a species...Now, if we can achieve world peace, it'd be perfect"

I don't think this is exactly what napnip said but it kinda relates. I think it's about how apathetic the world is today. How there have been such great things in the past and it's like they never existed, because the world is too busy caring about themselves. And he hopes for all this bickering to end and for them to look at these things that have shaped the world they live in, and maybe teach them to appreciate people.

That's the best I can put it...

This song seems to be saying that maybe we should take the time to appeciate even the little things in life ("Sunday mornings with a cup of tea") and that it's amazing that we have them. Even though we already have many miracles on Earth, we still need many more to bring world peace.

What I take from this song is all the things Queen have written into this song.

The song describes the best things about our world, buildings, famous people, advances in science (test tube babies)

It then relates that to the bad things about our world, war, starving people.

The Miracle is all about Queens Hope.

The last section is all about everyone coming together and being friends.

So in a nutshell "The Miracle" is about the day in the future we finally get peace on earth.

This is a beautiful song about appreciating everything that we have on this earth and not taking it for granted like many do. The song isn’t just mentioning the things we should appreciating, but saying that the world; Mother Nature, is a miracle. Every happening, every war, every life and every death is a miracle that should be appreciate.
